Capital City wins the Comercial Real Estate Award in the Nomination ‘Best multi-functional complex’

At a ceremony aired by CRE News Capital City was announced as the winner of the Commercial Real Estate Award. The multi-functional complex was one of the three candidates in 2009.

The annual Commercial Real Estate Award was founded in 2003 by the sectoral business community. The Award ceremony symbolizes professional recognition in the real estate sector. Represented by top managers of the industry leaders, the Expert Council selects by closed ballot the best projects over the previous year which it believes should be exemplary for the whole industry.

Peter Isayev, head of commercial real estate division, Capital Group, says: “It is not fortuitous that that the City of Capitals has become the winner since it is one of the best multi-functional complex. Capital Group was the first to develop mixed-use complexes and is now the established leader of the sector. The Capital City is undoubtedly a state-of –the art multi-functional complex in the heart of business Moscow.

It is characterized by its unique and remarkable architecture that won recognition in the professional architectural community for its state-of-the-art engineering systems, its modern-looking public spaces, good geographical location,  its striking views, its excellent infrastructure that includes restaurants and an underground six-level parking lot – a wonderful solution of the Moscow traffic problem. It is very pleasant to hear yet another professional assessment, however its best proof is its popularity with its consumers – companies that lead the market in their respective areas. In spite of the global financial downturn, around 90 percent of the offices are leased, and over 60 percent of apartments have already been sold”.

The winner of the 2010 Commercial Real Estate Awards is to be announced in April this year.

Capital City

Capital City is represented by two residential high-riser towers ‘Moscow’ and ‘St.Petersburg’ and a 17- storeyed business centre. Its designers drew on the best American, European, Japanese and Chinese practices and utilized the ideas of Russian constructivism as a visualization technique. The two rectangular x-shaped towers provides the buildings with a unique silhouette, as well as a solid construction and free layout. The panoramic glazing all around the complex is emphasized by mosaic of light and dark terracotta tiles, the podium façade boasting a combination of even and textured surfaces. The project was implemented with the assistance of two internationally acclaimed companies – the British OVE ARUP and the American NBBJ that build skyscrapers all over the world. The two Capital City towers are the highest buildings to date in Moscow and in Europe (the Moskva tower reaching ca. 300 meters in height.

The conducive geographical location of the first construction line near the Moskva river opens magnificent views on the city and the quay and provides easy access for pedestrians and motorists. Unlike most other construction projects, Capital City has its own six-level car park – a sound solution of the city’s parking problem. Capital City offers its occupants the infrastructure they need: a fitness club, a spa centre, shops, A-class offices and service support. Currently, the project is in its final stage. In autumn 2010 the repair work in the apartments is to be completed.
